Diana Gabriel

Diana Gabriel moved to the States from Colombia at the age of 13. She
received her BFA in Painting/Drawing from Northern Illinois University
in 2004, and her MFA from Illinois State University in 2007. Gabriel combines
both, drawing and painting, in her work. She enjoys reading about science and
thinking about how it could influence her work. More specifically, she is interested
in the composition of natural structures, and how it translates into other everyday

occurrences. She was featured in New American Paintings magazine in 2004,
and has been exhibiting since. She will be teaching at College of Lake County
in Grayslake beginning in the fall 2008.
